Numerical Investigation on the Flame Characteristics and Particle Behaviors in a HVOF Spray Process Using Kerosene as Fuel

HVOF coatings generally have a high bonding strength and good compactness, which improve the wear, corrosion, high-temperature oxidation, fatigue properties of substrate. They are widely used in automobile, home appliance, petrochemical, aerospace, other fields. The flame flow characteristics particle in-flight behaviors during spray process an essential influence on coating microstructure and, thus, properties. This paper deals with field model that uses kerosene as fuel. A one-step chemical reaction eddy dissipation were to numerically calculate dynamics. numerical simulations predicted variation laws pressure, temperature, velocity, Mach number, combustion components. On this basis, trajectory WC-12Co particles calculated using Lagrangian approach. effect oxygen/fuel ratio was analyzed, well diameter, shape, injection angle, nitrogen rate processing.
